New Building to Expand Memory Care at Friendship Haven

Many families in the local area have an urgent need to find quality care for a loved one dealing with dementia, including Alzheimer’s disease. That’s why Friendship Haven is preparing to build a new building on campus to accommodate two dementia households with 15 apartments in each, for a total of 30 private apartments with private bathrooms.

I Feel Good! Boomers Fitness Club Speeds Colleen Dencklau’s Knee Surgery Recovery

Knee pain was nothing new for Colleen Dencklau. She had experienced knee issues since her 20s. After her doctor scheduled knee replacement surgery, Colleen started coming to the Wellness Center at Friendship Haven to walk and swim in the warm-water pool. She aimed for three to five days each week. Her goal was to help her body to heal faster after surgery. The strategy worked!

Father Jim Tigges to Provide Spiritual Care at Friendship Haven

When Father Jim Tigges retires in July, he looks forward to moving to Friendship Haven, where he will also provide sacramental care and lead Mass during the week.

“This new phase of life is exciting,” said Father Tigges, who has served as a Catholic priest for nearly 45 years. “I’m looking forward to not only living at Friendship Haven, but meeting new people and serving residents and staff throughout campus.”
