When residents face a health challenge requiring rehabilitation, Friendship Haven can partner with residents, their families, and medical providers to provide support. Our goal is simple— we help residents achieve and maintain their highest level of independence.

Trilogy Therapy

Trilogy Therapy is a client-centered, outcome-oriented therapy service, conveniently located at Friendship Haven. Providing a team/holistic approach to your therapy needs, we provide physical therapy, speech therapy, occupational therapy, and more, so you can return to doing the things you enjoy most.

We offer private treatment rooms, a therapy kitchen and bathroom to help with activities of daily living, and a spacious gym area with specialized therapy equipment.

You don’t have to be a Friendship Haven resident to benefit from Trilogy Physical Therapy!

The Trilogy Therapy Program offers extensive services, ensuring that each client’s needs are met with the most appropriate therapy.

  • Physical Therapy Services help clients regain muscle strength and improve coordination following an illness or injury, or to control or alleviate acute or chronic pain.

  • Occupational Therapy Services help clients master the daily activities of life, like personal hygiene, meal preparation, and household chores.

  • Speech-language pathologists (SLPs) work one-on-one with clients who have speech, language, hearing, and cognitive disorders to optimize effective communication. SLPs also work with clients who have swallowing disorders or difficulties to facilitate safe intake and optimize nutrition and hydration.

  • Balance Management provides residents with skills to avoid falls and reduce fears about falling.

  • Complex Disease Management provides therapy interventions for patients with multiple, complex diseases, including those whose medical state may complicate functional deficit.

  • Dementia Management therapists capitalize on a client’s strengths and enabling them to function their best ability.

  • Pain Management therapists identify different types of pain, determine what’s causing it, and deliver treatment options like massage, ultrasound, hot and cold packs, and yoga.

  • Continence Management therapists equip clients with simple exercises for the hip, abdomen, and pelvic floor muscles to help strengthen bladder support and decrease leakage.

  • Stroke Recovery aids residents by assessing which lost functions may benefit from therapy and creating a program to address each client’s unique needs.

  • Joint Replacement team will recommend a comprehensive therapy program designed to meet individualized goals.

  • Warm Water Aquatic Therapy helps clients with arthritis to build up strength, ease stiff joints, and relax sore muscles.

Parkinson’s Therapy


We currently offer LSVT BIG & LOUD therapy and Rock Steady Boxing, a fun and innovative way to improve symptoms of Parkinson’s Disease. Our wellness team members are licensed coaches and are ready to help you!

LSVT Big and Loud

Trilogy Therapy at Friendship Haven offers tailored LSVT BIG and LSVT LOUD programs for individuals with Parkinson’s disease (PD), accommodating varying symptom severities. This intensive four-week therapy includes daily one-hour sessions, focusing on whole-body movements to improve balance and step size in LSVT BIG, and enhancing voice clarity and volume in LSVT LOUD. These programs aim to reteach normal movement and speech patterns, fostering confidence through repetitive exercises and daily practice. Available to both Friendship Haven residents and the wider community, Trilogy Therapy invites those interested to learn more about these beneficial treatments by contacting (515) 573-6912.

Rock Steady Boxing

Designed specifically for people living with Parkinson’s disease, Rock Steady Boxing is a no-contact, boxing-inspired fitness program. This class is suitable for most people with Parkinson’s disease and requires no prior boxing experience. Based on research showing that physical exercise may fuel brain repair, Rock Steady Boxing aims to help participants increase strength and independence while also allowing them the chance to connect with others living with Parkinson’s disease.
