Here’s How You Can Offer Support

Donate

Thank you for considering a gift to Friendship Haven. As a Friendship Haven donor, you have several options for your generosity.

  • The Campus Beautification Fund keeps our surroundings inviting and tranquil.

  • The Gratitude Fund allows donors to express thanks for the care they or their loved ones have received at Friendship Haven. For example, donors might show appreciation for special staff by providing them with treats, meals, or t-shirts.

  • The Mission and Vision Fund sustains our mission of providing innovative and responsive services for aging adults. Donations to this unrestricted fund empower us to respond to ever-evolving needs and uphold our vision of residents and caregivers living full lives with faith, passion, and purpose, both now and in the future.

  • Good Samaritan Fund: provides immediate assistance to residents in need. Donations to this fund can help pay for a companion to provide one-on-one time with a resident to combat isolation and loneliness.

  • Care Trust Fund: Friendship Haven’s Care Trust Fund is an endowment fund. Donations to this fund remain untouched, while the earned investment income is used for charitable care, covering the monthly costs for residents who have outlived their resources for housing and healthcare.

Gift Planning

Our Star Society recognizes individuals who have included Friendship Haven in their estate plans through bequests, charitable trusts, gift annuities, or life insurance. Such planned giving can achieve personal goals, reduce taxes, and support our mission. Friendship Haven provides an average of $2 million in charitable care annually, with the Care Trust Fund and Good Samaritan Fund ensuring residents' peace of mind while maintaining confidentiality.

For more information about any of these funds, the Star Society, or to make a donation, please contact Jen Lane, Director of Engagement, at 515-573-6005 or email here.

Volunteering

Friendship Haven benefits from its wonderful volunteers daily. Volunteers generously give over 10,500 hours of time each year on the Friendship Haven campus.

There are many ways to share your skills and talents with our residents, including helping with clerical duties, assisting in community activities, reading to residents, teaching a craft, or serving as an ambassador in our nonprofit initiative. Our neighborhood coordinators are eager to match your interests and strengths with the perfect person or group so you can make a positive impact in our community.

If you would like to learn more about our volunteer opportunities, please contact Jen Lane, Director of Engagement, at 515-573-6005 or email here.
